This is so people could go visit this website and find other buildings that have art pieces in it. Or could see where some new places are, that are in desperate need of a makeover!

This is very similiar to what myself and Jess want to achieve with our pitch idea, but take a different spin on it. Abandoned America wants to capture the buildings and hold onto the memory of them. Jess and I want to find these hidden beauties and bring some life back into them. To enhance what is already there, create worlds and hidaways that people can run away too or get lost in a great book or song.

I have thought about for the layout of our speech. Opening : We describe a world or beautiful room and take the audience through the place. The aim is to pull the audience in by letting them get involved in the idea. Body: Then, with the help of slides, take them through the proposed idea.  We we would explain how we would do this, where this would happen, how often we would create new places. It also would be important to be realistic and explain the negative things or problems that may occur. Ending:  the ending is yet to be decided perhaps we could ask them questions, such as would you want to go somewhere like this? I think it is important we end on a high. Me and Jess are meeting today to do all the final prep.

I am really excited with this idea. Perhaps we could continue to do it! This is my favourite assignment soo far.

Here is another travel blog but this time it is mainly photography. I always find that is hard to balance living in the moment and capturing the moment when travelling or in everyday living. Alot of the time people want to get that post card pick and will sometimes lose that special time, place or experience. I believe if the thing is too beautiful to feel like it is real or if you feel soo happy in that one moment, even if its a party, then just appreciate it and dont try and capture it, because often the photo doesnt give that time justice. It sent me on mad youtube hunt to find other fabulous images. It made me wonder how a few subtle changes can turn something entirely different. In this trailor all they changed was the music and re-arranged the series of events. If I had never seen this movie before, I could had easily believed it was a romantic comedy, not in fact a thriller.
All these ideas are helping me take on different approaches to my own ideas and making me approach concepts at different angles.

Remember in week 1, our first taste of this class, my first encounter with the wonderful TED. This link is a great example about how important creativity is and that those that are creative can sometimes have unnessecary stresses.

CREATIVITY:  To be able to think outside the box, explore ideas that float in ones head. The ability to approach a concept, idea, emotion, or thought in one or more ways. Creativity is found not only in the creative arts industries, but all workforces. I.E; Buisness, Science, I.T, Social Scienes etc.. Creativity is a unique human trate that should be embraced!

INNOVATION:  A new concept or idea that is different than anything else thought before. It can be a completely different concept or a new spin on an already existing idea. Innovation and Creativity go hand in hand when brainstorming.

RISK: Putting oneself out to the public or anyone and bringing forward something wether an idea or even a speech an art piece, or a design for a buisness without knowing what the other people will think. Not being certain of an outcome. Risk is a common factor when thinking of new ideas, many people fear the risk in idea making and can hinder the train of thought. It is important to acknowledge the Risk factor, but not dwell on this as it can sabotage the idea process.

I want create a collage across the front of the GPO, in melbourne of stories of peoples lives, images that are important to those who particpate and blend them all together. It would be ever changing because people could add more stories or photos. The aim of the piece would be to get the community involved in a productive and posistive manner to remind people that everyone belongs to somewhere and has a story to tell.  I thought this would be a fantastic idea after  looking through a book my mother got me when I graduated called ‘ What I wished I knew at Eighteen.’  Its a book about average people and what there thoughts were about growing up. But the major thing I gained from this book, is everyone can be connected and everyone has similiar concerns and needs.

This idea would realistically have to through many processes, I would have to ask the local government, I would need a team of people to get the word out there and to help me construct it and I would also, most importanitly, need to convince the general public that it would be a wonderful project to be involved in.  But in a perfect world imagine if this idea worked!!

 I also was thinking perhaps there should be workshops offered. Perhaps either writing workshops for people to learn how to communicate there stories, there could be art classes or photography classes and it could be a meeting point for excursions to even the botanic gardens to play frisbee. I think it could be promoted really well, it could be put on trams, with slogans such as ‘SHARE YOUR STORIES, SHARE YOUR LIFE, SHARE WITH MELBOURNE.’

Soo…..what does everyone think?? I think that with the right positive people, the right approach, melbourne could be the one of the most friendly and communal cities in Aus. After all we are all human, we all crave belonging and connectivness.

I want to explore the importance of community. In the days of huge cities and very much about ourselves, its beautiful when huge spontanious events happen and bring everyone back together. They make us remember we are all earthlings, all sharing this world together and we are not alone!

Here on this website I explained my idea and asked myself some questions I would use for criteria such as originallity, would it be popular, is there any ideas like this out there. I really liked doing this because I now have something to follow with my project. Although its odd that you evaluate yourself, it gives you an opportunity to be realistic and have some guidelines. Otherwise this project could easily be stuck in the developmental stage.

This is our pitch (jessica and me):  We develop a website that has a list of abandoned buildings throughout melbourne. Probably in inner melbourne or just on boarder of zone 2. This project would also be a social experiment to see how word of mouth and communities work together, so hopefully it would expand to perhaps other towns and cities. It could be a national project, giving some communities a much needed sense of togetherness and belonging.       

Our main aim for this project is to find an innovative place for people to explore, bring a unique way of havinf fun with friends. Perhaps a differnt way to hang out with friends, other than the usual drinking or going for coffee. Something with a bit more meaning. I drew inspiration from this idea when I looked back on a blog that I posted earlier, about childhood and how it fleets from us or do we just adandon it. This concept explores this very idea, it lets people bring out there child-like qualites. Being child-like is not a bad thing or immature, within the right context, overall it allows people to have a free way of living, its liberating to just go to another world and forget the one your in. This is what we want people to do. Bring out your inner child-like qualities and inbrace them. Also with the brazalian artist how he uses already existing pieces of junk, l8ike old cameras that are broken and makes beautiful images
